Just like last year Mika and Lang Lang were given the difficult task of deciding who should scoop this year's crown.

They both agreed that Brad had earned the number one spot with his tribute to his foster parents.

The 22-year-old played an emotional piece he composed himself, named Ev & Frank after the couple who rehomed him at the age of seven.

And now, following the tear-jerking finale, Channel 4 has confirmed The Piano will return for a third series.

Claudia Winkleman will return next year, with applications expected to open soon.

Previously speaking about the show, Channel 4's Chief Content Officer Ian Katz said: "In a world full of wannabes seeking their moment in the limelight, The Piano was a breath of fresh air.

"It celebrated ordinary people doing something extraordinary for the sheer love of it.

"From 94-year-old widower George who played in Glasgow station to Lucy, the blind 13-year-old who stole the nation’s hearts."

Claudia Winkleman recently joked to The Sun how she was 'waiting to be fired' from the beloved show.

She said: "I am incredibly lucky that I get to do both [The Traitors & The Piano] and I am waiting to be told that I'm fired from both.

"Until then, I really love it [presenting both], they could not be more different."
