A SECONDARY school has been evacuated in a sudden closure after a bomb threat was received.

All pupils were urgently sent home from Meadow Park School, in Coventry, following the terror just before lessons were about to start this morning.

Year 11 kids were sent to another nearby school so they could continue with classes ahead of upcoming GCSE exams.

Cops raced to the scene around 8.30am on Monday following the bomb scare, which was made in an email.

West Midlands Police told The Sun: "We were called after a bomb threat was received by the school via an email.

"A search was carried out and nothing suspicious was found."

A spokesman for Meadow Park added: “Following a threat received before the start of the school day, we informed police and contacted parents to say we needed to close the school.

"The safety of our students is our number one priority and our established contingency plan was activated to minimise disruption to pupils and the wider school community."

One mum said at the time of the panic, she had not been told the reasoning behind the evacuation or had been given any updates.

Parents had said the earlier unexplained shutdown left them "worried".

The school said this morning: "Due to an evacuation, school is closed for all students except for Year 11.

"Alternative arrangements are being made for their exams. Please send Year 11 students to school as normal, where they will receive further instructions.

"School was closed today as a precautionary measure. School will reopen as normal to all students tomorrow morning (June 11).

"Thank you for your support with this."
