Roy Keane blasted “unprofessional” Jamie Carragher for missing the start of a football show he was due to appear on.
Keane and Carragher, along with Gary Neville, Ian Wright and Jill Scott, are part of the popular Stick to Football programme which broadcasts on YouTube. However, for most of the latest edition, the show was a player down after Neville announced Carragher had slept through his alarm and missed his train to the studio.
That left Keane gobsmacked, with the Manchester United hero raging: “How can you sleep through an alarm, I’ve never slept through an alarm in my life.” Wright and Neville agreed they’d never done it either, with the latter adding: “I’ve never known him do it, to be fair.”
A grumpy Keane then said: “So he’s not turning up?” with Neville adding that “he’s going to be arriving late”. Still furious at Carragher’s tardiness, Keane continued his rant, saying: “That is unprofessional of him, isn’t it?”
The Liverpool hero finally turned up 50 minutes into the hour and 20 minute show and was naturally ridiculed by the panel. He joked: “Am I still getting full pay or not? Sorry Roy.”
World Cup hero wants Man Utd move as doubts over Harry Maguire's future growNeville asked if he had been out boozing, but Carragher insisted: “I was just knackered. Monday night football, Champions League this week.”
Once he finally got his feet under the table, Carragher stood by his claim, made on Sky Sports, that Casemiro was finished at the top-level following his torrid night at centre-back in Man United’s 4-0 drubbing at Crystal Palace.
After Keane and Wright expressed sympathy for the Brazilian, who was playing out of position, Carragher explained: “It wasn’t just on one game. I did a piece on Casemiro at the start of the season against Tottenham.
“I felt the man-to-man marking Ten Hag was doing was killing Casemiro, and it had been killing him for a year. He’s not the most mobile and Ten Hag’s system doesn’t help him.
“That [his comments] wasn’t a reaction to the game [against Palace], I feel like I’ve watched it all season with him. It was sad to watch him on Monday.”
