FANS of the Knives Out franchise have been given a sneak peak into the new film, and Daniel Craig has undergone a serious transformation for the role.

The actor played American detective Benoit Blanc in the first two murder mystery films, and is back for another whodunnit.

However, this time he looks a far cry from the clean shaven private investigator with closely cropped hair audiences have come to know.

In photos taken on set, Daniel's character looks haggard.

Benoit sports shaggy hair down to his ears in the snap, as well as a 5 o'clock shadow.

This might signal that the third film, called Wake Up Dead Man, might take a darker twist.

The director has been tight-lipped about the plot of his successor to Glass Onion, but Rian Johnson did tease that it will be Benoit's "most dangerous case yet".

In a mysterious tweet he added: "I love everything about whodunnits, but one of the things I love most is how malleable the genre is.

"There’s a whole tonal spectrum from Carr to Christie, and getting to explore that range is one of the most exciting things about making Benoit Blanc movies.

"We’re about to go into production on the 3rd one, and I’m very, very excited to share the title, which gives a little hint of where it’s going."

The first two films in the series proved to be smash hits on Netflix, and fans have been eagerly awaiting the third installment, which is expected to air in 2025.

The full cast has not been revealed yet, but so far we do know it is set to include A-list actors such as Mila Kunis, Glenn Close, Josh O’Connor, Kerry Washington, and Jeremy Renner.

Daniel Craig is best known for playing James Bond in the famous spy thriller films, but last reprised the role in 2021 with No Time To Die.
