Adam Thomas shared that "the news is finally out" as he issued an announcement alongside his eldest brother Ryan Thomas following the latter's recent birthday celebrations.
Ryan, now 40, celebrated his milestone birthday in Portugal with family and friends recently. The gathering is understood to have been organised by the former Coronation Street cast member's fiancée Lucy Mecklenburgh, 32. His younger brothers Adam, 35, and Scott Thomas, also 35, were both in attendance. The guest list also included family friends like Richard Fleeshman and Chris Fountain, both of whom had worked with Ryan on the ITV soap.
It's since been announced that Ryan has another reason to celebrate at the moment, with it having been revealed that he will front a new show for the broadcaster. He's set to host the upcoming show 99 to Beat with his brother Adam.
Sharing his excitement, Waterloo Road cast member Adam wrote in a post on Instagram on Tuesday: "Ok so the news is finally out! Me and Ryan will be hosting our very own game show… 99 to BEAT!! This is a dream come true for both of us and we cannot wait to get started!! Moments like this don't come often and we're going to enjoy every BEAT of it!!!! It literally is the perfect family game show and the fact we get to host it as brothers doesn't get any better!"
He added: "What a way to turn 40 my brother [Ryan] happy birthday! We always said one day we would work together and am so happy it's this! This wouldn't be possible without you guys, so a big thank you to our team family [and] also to [ITV] for believing in us … let the games begin!!! 99 to Beat has only one rule 'Don't come last!'"
Bernice Blackstock suffers new blow in Emmerdale as she struggles with illnessRyan shared the announcement post on his Instagram Story, with him adding: "Turning 40 and about to host our very own game show together is literally a dream come true. '99 To Beat', we can't wait for you guys to see it!"
ITV has said that the two siblings will offer commentary while guiding the 100 contestants through the experience as they go head-to-head in a range of "simple, quirky and often hilarious games". It adds: "99 to Beat is the game show that anyone can win, but there's one rule players must follow if they're to be in with a chance of walking away with the cash prize – Don't. Come. Last. As contestants battle it out against each other, each round will see the number of players whittled down until one person takes the top prize."
Fans have shared support over the news, as reported by the Manchester Evening News. One person reacted recently: "Omg! This is amazing. The chemistry alone is already making me laugh! And will bring everyone so much joy!"
Another person is said to have commented: "Fantastic, you guys are going to be fabulous game show hosts." Whilst a third fan wrote in their response: "Can not wait for this. My fav duo. Congrats guys couldnt happen to nicer people."
"So excited for you guys congratulations," someone else wrote. Another fan is said to have reacted: "Aww amazing! You're both going to smash it." Whilst one is quoted as having teased: "Yesss! Always knew the Thomas bros were going to take over at some point and I'm here for it."
