Joey Essex's sister Frankie believes that their late mother "put him on" 'Love Island'.

Frankie has opened up about her brother, the 33 year old reality star, who spoke about their mum - who took her own life when Joey was just 10 years old - during his time on the popular ITV2 dating show. Frankie confidently claimed that their mother orchestrated Joey's presence on the show from beyond because she would have adored seeing him settling down in life.

Frankie shared: "It can be hard talking about someone who has passed away. It's Men's Health Week focusing on mental health now, so it was nice for Joey to open up about her."

Expressing admiration for her brother, she confessed, "I was really proud of him because it's something you never really get over, you just learn to live with it. You need to keep their memory alive, and Joey is doing that."

With a touch of certainty, she told one of her friends that she believes their mother orchestrated Joeys entrance into the show because she would have loved seeing him settling down, concluding, I think she would be really proud of us both, reports OK!.

According to Frankie, Joey, a former star of 'The Only Way is Essex', joined the dating show simply because he "genuinely just wants to settle down now". When confronted with the question if Joey was seeking long-lasting love, she responded resolutely: "He really is, 100 per cent."

Casting light on the motivations of other Love Island participants, she surmised, "I think all Islanders are, to be honest, except maybe the odd few who could be playing a game. Joey has done it all before and dated in the public eye, so he genuinely just wants to settle down now."

Concluding her thoughts, Frankie suggested that Joey had reached a juncture in life where he is ready "I do think he's at a point where he's finally ready to settle down and find someone."

Frankie revealed she is "so supportive" of her brother's journey to find true love, but stated she is "keeping an eye" on his Love Island partner Samantha Kenny.

She disclosed: "Every night I can't help but scroll through social media to see what everyone is saying about him. I'm so supportive of everything Joey does and want him to find love in the villa, but I'm also keeping an eye on who he's partnered up with to see what people are saying about her."
