One woman was left wondering if she could ever look her postman in the eye again after a cheeky order came to her door.

Mum Chloe Lythgoe received an alert on her phone that a delivery was arriving when she said she saw the driver walking up the path and smiling to himself. As she signed for the package, she was left feeling embarrassed as her parcel was not in the discreet packaging that she was promised.

Chloe was promised her online order would come in discreet packaging, but she was left stunned when the name of her new X-rated sex toy was printed on the front of her parcel - awkward. "I was bright red and just closed the door - I felt so embarrassed," the 24-year-old said.

Chloe ordered the £15 adult toy from Amazon back in 2020, with the product delivery details promising to make discretion 'a primary consideration'. The mum ordered the product after it was recommended by friends, deciding to "go for it and try something new".

Chloe said her pals felt her embarrassment when she told them the story and added: "On the page, it said it was discreet and I thought that was fine. When I told my friends, surprisingly they asked me how it was, so the company has sold quite a few [off the back of] my [ Facebook ] story, I believe."

Explaining what happened when the parcel arrived, the embarrassed woman said: "I opened the door and he handed it over, smirking as if he knew what was in the box. It was awful, I looked at him as if to say 'please, I hope you've not seen it' and he looked back to say 'I know what's in there'."

She continued: "I went bright red, just closed the door and thought 'typical me'. I just wanted the ground to open up and eat me, it was less than discreet. I opened the door in my dressing gown too with my kids stood behind me wondering who was at the door with my hair up in a 'mum bun' - I bet I looked the part. I felt so embarrassed."

The Warrington native said she now feels "mortified" every time she has to answer the door to face her postie. Chloe commented: "Even now when he comes to the door I can't look at him in the eye, just knowing he knows what I get up to makes me cringe. He still delivers all my parcels and every time I open the door I think 'oh why? Please change'. I've got years of embarrassment to come." Following the incident and lack of discreet packaging, an Amazon spokesperson said: "Amazon is investigating the issue."
