Teenager Lindsay Jo Rimer vanished 30 years ago when she went to her local SPAR shop to buy cornflakes, but three decades on a red Honda might hold some secret to the unsolved murder.

Rimer, 13, left her family home in Hebden Bridge, just west of Leeds on November 7, 1994, and was last seen buying the cereal. Hundreds of concerned locals joined police to search for the teen, but her family's worst fears were confirmed in the following April.

The schoolgirl's body was found purposefully weighed down by a concrete boulder in Rochdale Canal. A post mortem concluded Rimer had most likely been strangled to death and that the attack had not been of a sexual nature.

Detectives described Rimer as being cautious and would have only have gone off with someone she knew and trusted. Police attempted to find the driver of a red Honda Civic that had been stolen from Leeds and spotted around Hebden Bridge on the night she disappeared.

According to The Sun, it had been believed that the driver tried to talk to schoolgirls around the town and might have been spotted near the SPAR. Despite police enquiries into the Honda Civic and other leads, Rimer's murder remains unsolved.

Juliet Rimer, who was just a baby when her 13-year-old sister was murdered previously spoke out about the killing in a bid to find her sibling's killer. She described the "void" left in her life following her sister's death.

Speaking in 2016, Juliet said: "There will always be a void. I have no memories of her of my own, everything is from photographs, stories and the media.

"It is heartbreaking to watch your family break down every year, knowing there is nothing you can do, but be there for them. When I turned 13, it was like everyone closed ranks around me, in an effort to protect me from the world, as if the same thing might happen.

"A piece of everyone's soul is missing and I often wonder how our lives would have been, if we were not a 'broken' family. The advice Lindsay would have given me, the fights we might have had, and the things we may have shared.

"Not knowing what happened is the worst part, you walk down the street and wonder, 'Was it them? Do you know something?' Getting the answers wouldn't change the hurt but it would help bring closure to us all."
