Rylan had to make a mad dash to the BAFTA Awards hours after hosting the Eurovision Song Contest in Sweden last night with Scott Mills.
The 35-year-old TV and radio star hosted coverage of last night’s singing competition on BBC Radio 2. But less than 24 hours later he was on a plane back to the UK as the BAFTAs - celebrating the crème de la crème of TV - takes place later tonight.
Posting a quick snap from a cab, Rylan told his 2.2 million Instagram followers in his stories: “EUROVISION Malmo Sweden > BAFTAS London UK.” His turnaround was so quick he didn’t even have time to go home first and was spotted arriving at the London hotel where all the stars are staying.
There for a clothes fitting so he looks the part later on, Rylan was seen picking out an outfit and going into the disabled toilets to try it on as there were no rooms left available at the star-studded hotel.
Fans can tune in to watch the programme from 7pm on BBC One, which will be broadcast live from the Royal Festival Hall on London’s Southbank and hosted by comedians Rob Beckett and Romesh Ranganathan.

Happy Valley star Sarah Lancashire, who portrays no-nonsense police sergeant Catherine Cawood is a strong contender for Best Actress. She is up against Helena Bonham Carter for her starring role in ITV’s Nolly, Bella Ramsey for The Last of Us and Sharon Horgan in Best Interests, following the fight between parents who discover their disabled daughter has a life-threatening condition and doctors who think the life support machine should be turned off.
While Succession’s Brian Cox, The Crown’s Dominic West, Steve Coogan for The Reckoning, Top Boy’s Kane Robinson and Timothy Spall in The Sixth Commandment will battle it out for the Best Actor gong. Best Drama will be fought between Top Boy, Happy Valley, Apple TV’s Slow Horses and BBC heist drama The Gold.
