There's another handy listening perk for TV fans too...

IF you're always losing your Roku TV remote, there are two tricks that can help you.

It can be a nightmare when you can't control your TV – but don't panic because there are some easy fixes.

FIND THE LOST REMOTE

One option is Roku's Lost Remote Finder trick.

It simply involves getting your remote to play a noise so you can find it.

And if you're wondering how you make the noise happen, it works through a voice command.

"A feature called lost remote finder can help you locate your compatible Roku remote the next time it gets stuffed behind a couch cushion or misplaced somewhere else in your home," Roku explains.

"When you trigger the feature from a hands-free voice command, the free Roku mobile app for iOS and Android, your Roku streaming device, or your TV powered by Roku OS, your remote plays a sound so you can quickly find it."

The feature is supported on controls with built-in speakers, like the Roku Voice Remote Pro.

Just look for small speaker holds on the back of your remote (preferably before you lose it).

The voice command is just: "Hey Roku, where's my remote?".

This will make your remote play a sound for up to 60 seconds.

Once you find it again, you can press any button to stop it.

On some Roku devices – like the Roku Ultra – there's a physical lost remote finder button on the top of side of the player.

VIRTUALLY THERE

Probably an even handier solution is using Roku's virtual remote control.

It's best to set this up in advance so it's ready whenever you need it.

Just install the mobile app, sign in, and then follow the instructions to connect it to your Roku streaming device.

You can even connect headphones to your phone and listen to your TV privately via the app.

Importantly, you can also use this virtual remote to trigger the lost remote finder feature in settings.

Just go to Settings > Remotes & Devices > Remotes > [Choose Remote] > Find Remote.

You can also do it directly inside the mobile app, by tapping the three dots to the right of your connected device in the app – and then choosing Ping Remote.

This will trigger the feature as long as the remote is within Wi-Fi range and the batteries aren't dead.
