Moment 'dead man' revives in back of ambulance before running two miles home

A man thought to have died "resurrected" himself before running two miles back to his family home.

Footage captured the shock moment Prueang Enmak, 59, sprang back to life in the back of an ambulance as paramedics transported him to a local hospital. Mr Enmak's wife, Sombat Enmak, 57, discovered her husband in the shower after he had "two or three beers" and collapsed.

An ambulance crew from the Sawang Arom Rescue Foundation arrived at the couple's home in Surin, Thailand, to find his family attempting to revive him, and attempted CPR before hurrying him to Prasat Hospital, where he was to undergo an autopsy. But 20 minutes into their ride, Mr Enmak appeared to revive himself. The crew reported that he ripped the intravenous tube from his arm, initially appeared confused, and refused to speak to the ambulance staff.

As if the shock resurrection wasn't startling enough, the nearly 60-year-old man managed to run 1.9 miles (three kilometres) back to his home. Despite having displayed no vital signs for 20 minutes, he managed to evade the ambulance driver and his colleagues as they followed him along the road and repeatedly asked him to stop running. At one point, he grabbed a wooden stick and started batting at the group, warning them to stay away. He continued running back to his house where stunned family members were able to finally calm him down.

Once he recovered, Mr Enmak later told local media that the journey home had left him "exhausted" and that he didn't know he could run that far. He said the only thing on his mind was getting back home, not going to hospital. Thai medics are yet to provide any further updates on the unusual incident, with Mr Enmak's condition and subsequent recovery remaining a mystery.

According to his wife, this wasn't the first time he had apparently passed away before suddenly coming back to life. Five years ago, she claimed that her husband had stopped breathing while the couple attended a Thai traditional dance. But she said he recovered shortly after the show ended.
