A cyclist was propelled through the air and left sprawled on a concrete driveway after they crashed with a car in a dramatic incident.

Footage, which the Mirror has chosen not to share, captured the moment a speeding cyclist collided with a red Ford Ka as it turned into a home in Braintree, Essex, earlier this week. The motorist, who seemingly had nowhere to turn on the narrow road, was unable to avoid the collision with the fast-moving bicycle, sending its driver high into the air.

The video shows the small red Ford pulling into a driveway, with two nearby large builder's vans appearing to be blocking the view of the cyclist. The cyclist, having seemingly not seen the car pull out in front of the two vehicles, speeds along the pavement straight towards the car.

The driver is then seen quickly taking advantage of a gap in the traffic to finish their turn, but the cyclist slams into their car as they start to head up the driveway. Dramatically, the cyclist is then launched high into the air, where they complete two front flips before landing on the ground roughly six feet away. The whole incident unfolded so quickly that the cyclist is seen as barely a blur on the camera. They are seen coming down hard on the concrete driveway before sliding to a stop on a nearby patch of grass.

Miraculously, they appear to emerge without serious injuries but look shaken as they quickly sit up and rest their hands on their knees. The shocking footage spread like wildfire on social media, with 400 people liking the video after it was posted online, and 1,000 more stating their surprise, remarking on the distance the cyclist flew.

One user said: "The cyclist should not have been on the pavement." Another added: "The very lucky young fella who walked away. Let's hope he learned several lessons." A third said: "As a cyclist even when I'm on the cycling path I still slow down for blind spots like this because accidents can happen even if everyone has the best intention." And another commented: "Bloody hell, how fast was that cyclist going?"
