Solskjaer took up his new duties during Germany's 5-1 thrashing of Scotland in the Euro opener at the Allianz Arena on Friday night.

He's tasked with dissecting the evolution of coaching based on insights from Euro 2024, according to The Mail.

He will compile a comprehensive report for Uefa to be released following the tournament's conclusion.

The report will identify trends and how the game - specifically coaching - is changing.

Earlier this month, reports emerged suggesting Solskjaer could be making a comeback to the managerial scene.

The United legend was poised to take the reins at Turkish outfit Besiktas, with the club reportedly eager to seal the deal, according to ESPN.

He was also linked with the Leicester City job after Enzo Maresca departed the newly promoted club for Chelsea following Mauricio Pochettino's exit.

Solskjaer has openly expressed his yearning to return to the high-stakes world of football management since leaving Old Trafford.

He told the Overlap Stick to Football podcast: "I've got at least one club job in me.

"No disrespect but after you've managed Manchester United for three years it's like where do you go?

"I want to feel that pressure again. When you see the games, you miss it."

The Norwegian spent two-and-a-half years as United manager either in caretaker or permanent charge, before being replaced by Ralf Rangnick and then Erik ten Hag.
