Michael Jackson ’s youngest son, Blanket Jackson, was spotted in a rare outing amid his ongoing legal battle with his grandmother, Katherine Jackson. Earlier this week, the 22-year-old, who now goes by "Bigi," was spotted picking up fast food near his grandmother's home in the Calabasas neighbourhood in Los Angeles, California.
Blanket, whose birth name is Prince Michael Jackson II, was dressed casually for his errands-running trip. He wore white shorts, a white X-Men t-shirt, and black Nike sneakers to pick up his takeout order down the street. His long hair that reached his shoulders was blowing in the wind, and he showed off the start of a new beard. The pop star's son usually stays out of the spotlight and is rarely seen in public.
The recent sighting comes amid Blanket's lawsuit against his grandmother to block her from using his father's estate to fund her legal battle against the executors of Michael's estate.

Blanket was spotted picking up food close to his grandmother's house (IXOLA / BACKGRID)Recent court documents filed by Blanket state that he and Katherine, 93, had previously joined forces against the executors in an attempt to stop a major business transaction using MJ's estate money. Katherine has been involved in an ongoing legal dispute over the $600 million deal with Sony Music for half of her late son's publishing and recorded music catalog.
Blanket and his brother Prince, 27, and sister Paris, 24, were supportive of the sale, but their grandmother appealed it. Now Blanket wants Katherine to cover her own legal expenses instead of relying on the King of Pop’s estate to pay them.
Aside from his money, Blanket has also inherited his father's creative genes and has already been honored for his filmmaking. Earlier this year, he won an award for Best Drama for his short film Rochelles at the Santa Monica Film Festival.

Blanket and his siblingsBlanket was born in 2002, but his mother's identity was never revealed because he was reportedly born via a surrogate. He was only seven years old when his famous father died in 2009, and PEOPLE magazine reported that he "acted very lost and extremely upset," and said he was the one who had the hardest time processing Michael's death.
A family friend told the publication: “The kids live like Michael is constantly looking down upon them... [Blanket] has had the most problems adjusting after Michael died."
