One thing that will keep Lisa Armstrong going after being left 'heartbroken' by Ant McPartlin baby post

Ant McPartlin's ex-wife Lisa Armstrong is currently believed to be lapping up some sunshine in Portugal after the birth of Ant's first child with his wife Anne-Marie Corbett.

On Tuesday, Ant, 48, took to Instagram to reveal that Anne-Marie, 46, had given birth to a baby boy. Sharing a sweet black and white photo of Ant holding their newborn son, the proud parents also announced their baby's name in the caption of the adorable post as they wrote: "Welcome to the family. Wilder Patrick Mcpartlin. Born, 14/05/24 at 8.54am. Baby is beautiful, Mummy’s a legend, Sisters are over the moon. Dad’s a mess."

Shortly before Ant's bombshell baby news, his ex-wife Lisa, 47, also took to Instagram to share a cryptic post which suggested she was hurting after spending almost two decades with the Britain's Got Talent star.

Lisa first started dating Ant in 1994, and the pair went on to marry, but called it quits on their romance in 2018. During their relationship, the pair faced many tumultuous times through Ant's alcohol and drug addiction, and the fact they never welcomed a child together - something which Lisa had always dreamed of, according to her close pal.

Suggesting that she is going through a 'battle', Lisa shared a quote on Instagram that read: "Be proud of how you have been handling these past few months. The silent battles you've fought, the moments you've had to humble yourself, the times you've wiped your own tears. Celebrate your strength."

Just two days after Ant and Anne-Marie welcomed their baby boy, Lisa is now believed to be soaking up some sun on a getaway - and her friends believe it's the best thing for her right now. A friend of Lisa's told MailOnline that the professional make-up artist is reeling from the baby news, given she only found out that Ant was going to be a father when she read it in the headlines.

"Lisa finds it hurtful and heartbreaking that after everything he put her through, Ant didn’t give her the heads-up that he was going to be a dad," they told the publication. "It all feels very insulting. Ant had Lisa’s best years. It feels like the ultimate betrayal. On top of that, you have all of their old pals congratulating Anne-Marie and Ant on social media."

However, there is one thing that is still putting a smile on Lisa's face, and her close friends are sure that it will get her through the hurt she's feeling now. Lisa can count on her beloved chocolate labrador Hurley to keep a smile on her face. Lisa and Ant decided to get a dog after they realised they would not become parents, but Hurley has since become much more than just a pet to her.

She and Ant currently share custody of him despite Ant having two more dogs of his own, Milo and Bumble, who he has inked on his skin. "Lisa loves that dog so much," her friend told Mail Online. "If anything is going to keep her going through this difficult time, it’s him."

The Mirror has reached out to Ant and Lisa's representatives for comment on this story.
