World famous rapper Drake has lost almost £450million after backing Tyson Fury in his heavyweight bout with Oleksandr Usyk.

The Canadian artist placed the bet ahead of the pair’s titanic clash in Saudi Arabia on Saturday evening. He gave his backing to ‘The Gypsy King’ but has now lost after Fury was defeated by his Ukrainian opponent by split decision.

It now means that Drake has lost out on over £800,000 in prize money, with his bad luck with the bookies continuing. Usyk was named as the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world after an eye-catching performance against Fury in Riyadh.

Two of the judges counted the fight to the Ukrainian, while Fury now sees his unbeaten record come to an end. Drake's latest punt is just the latest in a long line of big-money bets when it comes to sporting events - but he has had mixed success with the bookies. The 37-year-old secured a massive £3m payday after backing Paddy Pimblett and Molly McCann to win in London in 2022.

However, he then followed that up by losing £190,000 as he backed Jose Aldo later that year against Merab Dvalishvili. Drake was also successful when he put money on Alex Pereira to beat Jamahal Hill at UFC 300.

There have also been a few other notable results when it comes to the rapper’s business with bookmakers. He was publicly mocked by Dricus du Plessis, who Drake had backed to lose to Sean Strickland.

The latter ran out victorious and then later fired a message to the Canadian on social media. He wrote: "Oh snap, almost forget thanks Drake.”

Drake’s betting habits are not just limited to fighting. He also threw his weight behind Argentina winning the 2022 World Cup final against France.

While that happened, Drake had actually bet that the South American side would be successful after 90 minutes. It actually took a penalty shootout for Argentina to secure the trophy.

France had managed to battle to a 3-3 draw after extra-time. Lionel Messi scored a brace in the final, with Kylian Mbappe going one better with a hat-trick. Former Manchester United star Angel Di Maria also found the net for Argentina in the final.

His betting habits also continued for the Super Bowl between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers. He backed the latter, staking £900,000, writing on Instagram “I can’t bet against the Swifties” in direct reference to Travis Kelce’s relationship with fellow music artist Taylor Swift.
