MICHAEL Gove will today condemn the rise in anti-Semitism incidents as he slams the organisers of pro-Palestine marches.

The Cabinet Minister delivers a major speech today to blast those leading demonstrations to be more “vigilant” of anti-Jewish hate.

His intervention came after three women were found guilty of terror offences after displaying images of paragliders - used by Hamas to enter Israel during the October 7 atrocities.

Mr Gove will say: “Many of those on these marches are thoughtful, gentle, compassionate people - driven by a desire for peace and an end to suffering.

“But they are side by side with those who are promoting hate.

"The organisers of these marches could do everything in their power to stop that. They don’t.”

The Communities Secretary will also condemn the rise in anti-Semitism incidents saying it highlights that “all our freedoms are threatened”.

He issues the chilling warning saying the safety of Jewish people in our communities is the “canary in the mine”.

Mr Gove will deliver a major speech (Tues) ahead of the government’s Counter Extremism Action Plan due in the coming weeks.

His comments come after university chiefs were invited to Downing Street and told to be vigilant on antisemitism as Gaza protests spread across campuses.

The Communities Secretary will say: “So when Jewish people are under threat, all our freedoms are threatened.

"The safety of the Jewish community is the canary in the mine.

"Growing Antisemitism is a fever which weakens the whole body politic.

"And I see that directly in my work tackling extremism and promoting community cohesion.

“There is one thing which - increasingly - unites the organisations and individuals which give cause for extremist concern. Antisemitism.

“It is the common currency of hate.

"It is at the dark heart of their world view.

"Whether Islamist. Far Right. Or Hard Left.”

He will say it’s the “ironclad” law of history that countries “descending into darkness” which become progressively more unsafe for Jewish individuals.

He will also call on members of the House of Lords to back new legislation to stop businesses and organisations being targeted through boycotts, which often triggers a rise in anti-Semitism.
