Fenerbahce's clash with rivals Galatasaray descended into chaos after the final whistle, with the son of manager Ismail Kartal at the centre of a huge brawl.
Fenerbahce beat Galatasaray 1-0 thanks to a goal from former Leicester star Caglar Soyuncu, with the victory keeping their hopes of winning the Turkish Super Lig alive heading into the final day of the season.
And as Fenerbahce celebrated their win, they unfurled a flag with the club's badge on it and posed for photos. However, stadium manager Ali Celikkıran intervened and attempted to grab the flag.
In footage that has since circulated on social media, Kartal's son Emre appears to throw punches at Celikkıran before being dragged away. According to Turkish newspaper Hurriyet, Galatasaray's general secretary Eray Yazgan and other club officials were also hit in the brawl.
Sabah also report that former Fenerbahce chief Hulusi Belgu grabbed Celikkıran by the hair and 'pulled him to the ground', while Fenerbahce president Ali Koc is said to have told Yazgan: "If you don't get out of here, you will be beaten!"
Wesley Sneijder doubles down on ruthless reason behind Liverpool transfer snubThere was also an incident before the game after Fenerbahce's Mert Hakan played up to the Galatasaray fans by showing off the badge on his tracksuit. Hakan was then confronted by several Galatasaray players and a shoving match ensued before they were separated.
One of the Galatasaray players involved, Kerem Akturkoglu, called Hakan a "coward" while leaving the stadium. He then responded to the jibe on social media, pointing out that he was outnumbered five to one before his teammates intervened.
It comes after Fenerbahce held a vote over whether to withdraw from the Turkish Super Lig altogether following an attack on their players by Trabzonspor fans in March. The club's members ultimately voted against a withdrawal, but they staged a protest against the Turkish Football Federation in April's Turkish Super Cup final.
Fenerbahce fielded their under-19s, walked off the pitch and forfeited the game, having been unhappy with the scheduling of the match and the appointment of a Turkish referee. Speaking after Sunday's win over Galatasaray, Koc told reporters: "It is a much bigger win than a derby win.
"We didn't let them celebrate the championship on their own field, we broke their undefeated streak... It's more than that. In fact, today we showed the dishonourable, dishonourable, thieves and scoundrels who the real champion is."
