CHRIS COLEMAN is wanted by Cypriot side AEL Limassol.

Wales' popular Euro 2016 manager, who famously led his country to the semi-finals, has been out of work since resigning from Atromitos in Greece last October.

But SunSport understands Coleman is set to hold talks with the club, who finished ninth in Cyprus' top-flight last season.

AEL recently parted company with boss Alexandros Garpozis last week.

And ex-Fulham and Sunderland chief Coleman, who has also attracted interest from China, is on the shortlist to take over.

The 53-year-old has never hidden his desire to return to work abroad again.

Coleman, who held talks with Ireland over their vacant job, has had spells with Real Sociedad in Spain, Larissa and Atromotis in Greece as well as Hebei China Fortune in China.

But the Welshman is best remembered for leading Gareth Bale and Co to the last four of the Euros in France eight years ago.

Coleman was back in his homeland earlier this month when he took charge of Wales in an all-star charity match against England.

The former Dragons boss returned to his hometown of Swansea for the 2-0 win which was in honour of Joseph's Smile and The Bradley Lowery Foundation.

Speaking in March, Coleman declared that Bale was the best player he’d ever worked with – and Britain’s greatest-ever export abroad.

Coleman said: “(Bale) is the best player Wales have ever had.

"I also think he’s the most successful British player to ever go abroad, he won four Champions League titles, no one has ever done that from Britain.

"You don’t have to coach players who are that good, you’ve just got to make sure they have got what they need."
