Mohamed Salah has delivered the clearest hint yet that he will be a Liverpool player next season, and plans to do "everything possible" to land a trophy for the Reds.

The Egyptian winger has seen his future scrutinised in recent months as he enters the final year of his contract. Liverpool saw a bid of £150million for their star winger from Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad but chose to reject it in favour of keeping Salah.

Theories emerged suggesting the 31-year-old may have made a secret deal with Liverpool to agree a future move after remaining at Anfield for another season. Despite it being disrupted by injury, Salah still racked up 25 goals and 14 assists in Jurgen Klopp's final year.

However, it appears Salah is keen to at least play out one more season before his contract expires and he intends to deliver more success to the Kop. The Reds only came away as victors of the Carabao Cup after looking to earn success in the Premier League and Europa League as recently as April.

Salah would seem to be focused on winning next season, even with the arrival of a new coach in Arne Slot this summer. We know that trophies are what count and we will do everything possible to make that happen next season. Our fans deserve it and we will fight like hell," he posted on X.

Liverpool's top scorer delivered his comment after the club confirmed the appointment of Slot to replace Klopp on Monday evening. Salah also paid tribute to his departing coach, Klopp.

He posted a picture of himself with the German coach and said: "It was great sharing all those trophies and experiences with you over the past 7 years. I wish you the best of luck for the future and hope we meet again."

Slot will likely be buoyed by the news he will be able to utilise a player who has been Liverpool's top goalscorer in each season since his arrival. The Dutch coach also made his first comments after being named the new Reds boss.

"It is certainly not an easy decision to close the door behind you at a club where you have experienced so many wonderful moments and worked successfully with so many wonderful people," Slot told Feyenoord's club website.

"But as a sportsman, an opportunity to become a head coach in the Premier League, at one of the biggest clubs in the world, is difficult to ignore."
