Tyson Fury sent ominous warning ahead of Oleksandr Usyk rematch

Tyson Fury has been warned history will repeat itself in his rematch against Oleksandr Usyk.

The Brit came up short in his bid to become the first undisputed heavyweight world champion in 25 years when he lost to Usyk in their mega-fight last month. Fury was controlling the first half of the fight but Usyk found a second wind and almost stopped Fury on the way to defeating his bitter rival on points.

Usyk's team, Oleksandr Gvozdyk, has backed the Ukrainian to get the job done again in their December 21 rematch. I think it will be even worse for Fury in the rematch,” Gvozdyk said. "I know Usyk – once he catches you, he won’t let you go. Usyk is going to be even more confident in the next fight.

"Fury is better off fighting Anthony Joshua. The first fight was just a brilliant performance. He beat Fury everywhere, in and out of the ring. Fury likes to play mind games; in this case, it was the complete opposite. I think Usyk got in his head. I didn't see Fury as confident as before when he was a killer and super-confident.

"With Usyk, he was trying to do the same, but you can see in his eyes and by his mimics that he's different and nervous. He was nervous in the ring. Usyk is the well-deserved No. 1 pound-for-pound fighter in the world.” Fury assured fans that he is not considering retirement after being spotted worse for wear whilst out on the town last week.

"Oleksandr Usyk, I’m coming for you! Get ready for the Gypsy King! The path to redemption is all mine," Fury said in a new training clip. "I know what I have to do, I saw my shortcomings and best believe I am inevitable. I'm back in the gym as you can see, counting down the days until I get my redemption on Usyk.

"December 21 is going to be my time. I've done everything in boxing but I haven't come back from a loss. This is my chance to come back and redeem myself. Get up, December 21 is all me, undisputed here we come." Usyk's undisputed world titles likely won't be on the line in his rematch against Fury as he is expected to be stripped of his IBF belt in the coming weeks.
