A Snapchat clip has revealed what British teenager Jay Slater was wearing the night before he went missing in Tenerife.

The 19-year-old was in the Canary Islands for a music festival, but mysteriously disappeared after a night out with new friends. The new video, taken on Sunday night (June 16) by relative Isabelle Price, showed Jay laughing and smiling the night before he vanished. The clip was filmed at about 8.35pm in the Arona area of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

The clip was shared widely on social media, showing Jay, originally from Oswaldtwistle in Lancashire, wearing a grey sports top with a light green strip on the shoulders and a black bag.

Posting the clip in a Facebook group dedicated to finding Jay, which now has over 40,000 members read: "This is a clear video of what Jay was wearing the night he went missing. All of our family and friends are so worried, we're all just praying and hoping he gets found soon unharmed."

Jay hasn't been heard from since around 8am on Monday (June 17) while visiting the Spanish island for a music festival, reports the Manchester Evening News. The 19-year-old was with a friend who he called to say he was lost and had only one per cent battery on his phone, before being cut off.

His friends said he had decided to stay out on Sunday night after meeting some new friends while his pals went back to their apartment. The area where his phone was last tracked is in the Rural de Teno Park - or the National Park of Teno - which is an area popular with hikers.

A major search is underway, led by the Civil Guard, with mountain rescue teams, police and helicopters deployed. His devastated mum Debbie, who has since flown out to the Spanish island, said: "I'm obviously beside myself with worry which is why I've flown out here with my eldest son to do anything we can to help."

"We're just praying the police or someone finds Jay. I know there's a mountain rescue team out and a helicopter. Nothing's ever going to be enough when your youngest son's gone missing but it sounds as if the police here are taking this very seriously and doing the best job they can."
