Justin Timberlake's complicated relationship with drugs and alcohol has been put under the spotlight following the singer's recent arrest.
Timberlake, who was charged with drink-driving on Tuesday, reportedly quit excessive drinking back in 2019, after being pictured looking slightly too comfortable with an actress during a boozy night out.
It's thought Timberlake's wife Jessica Biel slapped a ban on the dad-of-two's partying ways after the Cry Me a River singer, 43, was caught getting very cosy with his Palmer co-star Alisha Wainwright after filming scenes for the movie in New Orleans.
In the infamous snaps, Timberlake appeared to not be wearing his wedding ring as he held his Wainwright's hand, who played his love interest in the movie.
Wainwright was spotted stroking the knee of Timberlake, which escalated to him grabbing her hand. The duo were caught on camera deep in conversation and sipping drinks at a New Orleans bar, before leaving together shortly after midnight. Insiders claimed at the time that Timberlake seemed to have had one too many and looked a bit wobbly.
Judge Judy 'happy' former neighbour Justin Bieber has stopped 'foolish' anticsAn eyewitness remarked: "They were smiling and laughing. At one stage he grabbed her hand and rested it on his knee. She then gently started stroking his leg. Then he clutched her hand with both of his and was playing with her hands." Timberlake and Wainwright were part of a small group indulging at The Absinthe House on Bourbon Street that Thursday.
However, they spent about 40 minutes alone on a balcony before heading back inside, reportedly leaving through a back exit around 12.30am. Wainwright is renowned for her role as Maia Roberts in Shadowhunters and is also featuring alongside Michael B Jordan in the Netflix series Raising Dion.
Timberlake and his wife Jessica Biel, who tied the knot in 2012, were often hailed as one of Tinseltown's most stable couples prior to Timberlake's indiscretion. After being caught in compromising snaps, with many accusing the *NSYNC singer of cheating, Timberlake issued a heartfelt apology, admitting to a "strong lapse in judgement".
Addressing his Instagram followers, Timberlake wrote: "A few weeks ago I displayed a strong lapse in judgment — but let me be clear — nothing happened between me and my co-star. I drank way too much that night and I regret my behaviour. I should have known better. This is not the example I want to set for my son. I apologize to my amazing wife and family for putting them through such an embarrassing situation, and I am focused on being the best husband and father I can be. This was not that."
Timberlake and Biel seemingly worked things out, remaining married and welcoming another child into the world, but Biel had some strict rules for when the Friends With Benefit actor recently launched his music comeback. "She’s resigned herself to having to let go of the reins and trust him," a source told the National Enquirer earlier this year.
The insider continued: "Justin’s managed to crawl his way out of the doghouse — but he has a long list of rules to follow when they’re apart if he wants to hang on to her and their marriage. He’s got to check in with her every night before bed and she’s got to be able to reach him whenever she wants — no excuses. Plus, he’s agreed he won’t go out after the shows partying and drinking. If he does anything that humiliates her or breaks their trust, she’s made it clear that will be the last straw!"
