One Antiques Roadshow guest was in tears after learning the true value of her late brother's prized rock n' roll posters.

The guest's brother collected many posters over the years and she presented the expert with 47 of the ones he collected between 1967 to 1969 of several Rock musicians/bands including Jimi Hendrix and The Grateful Dead. She showed them to expert James Supp for an evaluation.

Her brother passed away 28 years ago but she revealed he used to send money for postage to rock concert promoter Bill Graham and the venue Fillmore West and would receive a poster in return. The posters were safely stored in a box for the last three decades, keeping them in extremely good condition.

It was revealed the posters had huge value and the expert noted that a Jimi Hendrix poster, featuring a flying eyeball, was a first edition as he pointed out the placement of 'Bill Graham' as well as the poster number. The art was done by Rick Griffin in the late 60s and was described as 'the most iconic 60s rock and roll posters'.

"The poster number is 105 from 'Bill Graham Presents' and because of its placement under the word 'tickets', you can tell it's a first edition," James told the guest. He then revealed that the poster could be valued between $5,000 (£3.9k) to $7,000 (£5.5k) due to its good condition.

The guest was stunned by the value and said it was 'awesome'. Another Hendrix poster was valued between $3,000 (£2.3k)and $5,000 (£3.9k) while a poster of The Grateful Dead performing at Café au Go Go in Greenwich Village for the first time was valued between $2,000 (£1.5k) and $3,000 (£2.3k).

James revealed the 47-poster collection would be valued between $20,000 (£16k) and $35,000 (£27.5k) in total. The guest was in tears by the end of the emotional evaluation as she admitted to the expert that she 'wanted to do something with them' as she didn't want them to hide away in a box.

She tearfully explained: "Wow. Wow! He loved them and I love them too. I want to do something with them, you know? I don't know what to do. Enjoy them not in a box anymore." The Jimi Hendrix 1968 Flying Eyeball poster can be found on eBay for around £2,500 while The Grateful Dead posters were auctioned online for around £1,200.
