Next has recalled a pack of sleepsuits over fears it could be a choking hazard for children.

The retailer has pulled its three-pack footless yellow and blue zip sleepsuits because the zip slider could become detached. Next sleepsuits typically retail at £19 and £21, depending on the size you need. In a recall notice published online, Next said: “We’ve identified a problem with the above item.

“Unfortunately, it's come to light that there is a potential problem with the zip construction which does not meet our required standards and is a potential choking hazard as the zip slider could become detached. As the sleepsuits don't meet our strict technical specifications, we've taken the precaution of recalling them and request that you return the item to us immediately for a full refund.”

Next shoppers are being urged to return the sleepsuits to their nearest store for a full refund. You can also arrange a collection by calling Next on 0333 777 8000 and choosing option 1, or call Selfserve on 0800 587 7758, or sign into “My Account” and select “Arrange a Return” from the menu.

If you received this item as a gift, you're advised to ask the recipient to contact Next as soon as possible. It comes after a massive selectin of sandwiches, wraps and salads are being recalled due to an E.coli outbreak. In the latest outbreak, 211 cases have been confirmed so far, with at least 67 people requiring hospital treatment.

Some of the UK's largest retailers including Aldi, Asda, Sainsbury's and Tesco have been forced to issue recalls. Health officials are working to track down the source of the outbreak, especially as this strain can make people very sick. Customers are being urged not to eat the products and instead return them to the shop for a refund.
