YOU can instantly upgrade the quality of your TV image if you're using a Roku device.
Roku has revealed some of the key settings to "improve image quality".
It takes just a few taps into settings to navigate to Picture Modes.
But once you know how to do it, you'll be able to tweak the look of your TV whenever you like.
"Your Roku TV system has multiple preset picture modes that adjust the appearance of the image to suit your preferences and viewing environment," Roku explained.

"Changing the picture mode can provide enhancements, especially given the wide range of input signal types from devices like cable and satellite boxes, Blu-ray players or game consoles and the quality of those signals."
HOW TO CHANGE PICTURE MODES ON ROKU TV
First you'll want to start streaming a movie or TV show.
Then hit the star (*) icon on your Roku remote, bringing up the TV Settings menu.
Now go to Picture Settings > Picture Mode, and navigate to your chosen look using the left and right buttons on the remote.
You can set different picture modes for individual video inputs on your TV.
So you could have a different picture mode for your PlayStation input versus a cable box.
Roku's official list of picture modes is as follows:
- Auto (recommended): Automatically adjust your TV settings for what you’re watching
- Low Power: Optimized to save energy. This is the default “out of box” setting
- Standard: Good for everyday viewing in moderate to bright rooms.
- Vivid: Intense and brilliant picture for use in rooms with a lot of light
- Sports: Optimized for sports viewing where camera panning, and action shots are common
- Movie: Ideal for darker rooms to view the movie as the director intended
Some Roku TVs might also have a Gaming picture mode.
It'll only appear if your Roku TV model supports it, so that's why you might not see it.
Additionally, some Roku TV models also support HDR10 and Dolby Vision picture modes.

These will appear as options when HDR content is detected.
You can individually adjust specific picture settings too.
Just go back to the Picture Settings menu and then choose Customize Picture.
Here are the available settings:
- Backlight: Adjust peak backlight level of your TV screen
- Brightness: Adjust how dark black sections appear
- Contrast: Adjust intensity of white parts of the image
- Sharpness: Adjust how sharp or soft edges appear
- Color: Adjust the color intensity or vividness of the picture
- Tint: Adjust the red to green color balance to get satisfactory skin tones
- Picture size: Auto detect and show best image size
- Expert Settings: Fine tune advanced picture settings like micro contrast, gamma, color space, etc
It's possible to reset settings for a picture mode at any time.

There's an even mode powerful feature you could try called Expert Picture Settings, or EPS.
But be warned: they're not for the faint of heart.
"Expert Picture Settings is designed for expert AV enthusiasts and professional TV calibrators," Roku explained.
"Who are comfortable with, and knowledgeable about, advanced picture quality concepts such as color temperature, white balance adjustment, gamma curve, and color management."
Be careful when you tinker with these, as it can be complicated unless you know what you're doing.
To find them on your Roku TV, press the star (*) on your Roku remote and go to Picture Settings > Customize Picture Mode > Expert Settings.
You can also do it using the Roku mobile app.
Just go into the app, tap on Devices, and then go to Settings > Expert Picture Settings.
