This quiz question is sure to leave you baffled.

Have you ever watched a quiz show and found yourself shouting out the answer to a seemingly easy question, only to discover that you were wrong? Trick questions are common in quizzes, as they're an excellent way of making you doubt your own knowledge and think outside the box.

And in a video on TikTok, Darragh Ennis - also known as The Menace on the ITV quiz show The Chase - shared one of these deceiving questions. He said the question was "easy sounding" but noted that "almost everyone" gets it wrong. Can you answer it without falling into the common trap?

In the clip, posted to his @bonesgiles account, he said: "Do you want to know a really easy sounding quiz question that almost everybody will get wrong? Seriously, about 95% of people will get this wrong, and it sounds so simple."

So, what's the question? Well, it's actually more of a task. All you have to do is this - name a berry.

Easy, right? Many of us eat berries every day, so surely we can name one off the top of our heads in just a few seconds. Go ahead, name the first berry you can think of.

If you said something like strawberry or raspberry, you've just fallen into the trap and become one of the 95% of people that get this question wrong. Turns out, even though they have berry in their name, they're not technically berries.

Darragh explained: "If you said strawberry, blackberry, or raspberry, you're wrong. They are not actually technically berries. Berries are a very specific type of fruit. They have to come from a single ovary of a single flower and have no stones for seeds. So if you said peach, plum, or cherry, they're not berries either.

"But what are berries, and this is the bit that is absolutely bonkers, are things like bananas, aubergines, and watermelons. There are some things that are called berries that are actually berries though too, things like cranberries and blueberries are also berries."

Commenters on the video were blown away, with many stating "every day is a school day". Other shared fruits and veggies that Darragh hadn't mentioned but are also berries, including tomatoes, pumpkins, cucumbers, courgettes, gooseberries, and kiwis.
