Tim Burton is back with Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.
The film's first trailer dropped today, with fans getting a glimpse at the hotly anticipated sequel starring Winona Ryder and Catherine O'Hara, alongside Jenna Ortega. Ryder's character Lydia Deetz her daughter Astrid, played by Ortega, are seen in the teaser.
"Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice," they say – summoning the character last witnessed in the 1988 cult classic. It's been decades in the making and the short clip is the first look at Tim Burton's work ahead of the film's theatre release on September 6.

Pictures)According to the film's synopsis, the flick follows "an unexpected family tragedy" that brings "three generations of the Deetz family" back to Winter River, Connecticut, where Beetlejuice was last awakened. Lydia "discovers the mysterious model of the town in the attic and the portal to the Afterlife is accidentally opened", per the description.

"With trouble brewing in both realms, it's only a matter of time until someone says Beetlejuice's name three times and the mischievous demon returns to unleash his very own brand of mayhem," the much anticipated Hollywood flick's synopsis concludes.
The film comes out in theatres in September (Warner Bros. Pictures)Speaking of her role, Ortega previously told Variety, "She's weird, but in a different way and not in the way you'd assume. I wouldn’t say she's bright and sunny at all." Catherine O'Hara returns as Lydia's stepmother Delia, telling PEOPLE previously that her character and Beetlejuice share "a little two-person moment" in the film.
"It was just so crazy and thrilling, really to just be face-to-face with Beetlejuice," she told the magazine in January. "Beetlejuice has aged very well." Keaton told the same outlet that working on Beetlejuice was "the most fun I've had on set in a long time".

The original film follows the recently deceased married couple Adam (played by Alec) and Barbara (Geena) as discover that a new family moved into their house. Using the Handbook for the Recently Deceased, they summon the spirit known as Beetlejuice to scare the family off the property.
Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is in theaters Sept. 6.
