  • Be over 16 years old
  • Live in Torbay
  • Live in a household with children
  • Live in a household in receipt of Personal Independence Payments (PIP), Disability living Allowance (DLA) or Attendance Allowance (AA)

Households can also apply for a one off payment If they are in receipt of a means tested welfare benefit and either have children in your household or you or your partner are entitled to PIP, DLA or AA.

If you are not in receipt of a welfare benefit you can also still get the payment if you meet certain conditions,

These include if you have children in your household or you or your partner are in receipt of PIP, DLA or AA and have a low disposable income of £50 per week or less after all essential expenditures.

In this case you will qualify for a one off award of between £250 and £500 depending on the size of your household.

To receive the boost households must apply with an application form and supply evidence of their circumstances which can be emailed or posted to the council.

The application will then be assessed and the applicant will be notified if they will be given the money or not.

Those who live in other areas can also have access to similar finincial help.

Each local authority gets a different portion of funding depending on the size of the catchment area, population, and number of vulnerable households.

The voucher or grant amounts vary by location, so you must check to see what you can get and how your council will pay you.

Now thousands of residents in West Devon can apply for the cash.

The council says each application is assessed on a case by case basis and the cash is paid by bank transfer.

Anyone who is eligible for support, but with limited finances of £125k available, we will also prioritise residents with the lowest
incomes to help support as many households as possible.
