Another alleged rape victim of former Spandau Ballet singer Ross Davidson has claimed he would “try and get me high so I would fall asleep quickly”.

The woman said in video evidence played in court how Davidson, 36, wanted sex up to six times a night and once continued to have sex with her even when she said no. She also told jurors how he filmed her performing a sex act on him without her consent and would often try and blow marijuana smoke in her mouth when he kissed her - as he smoked “five or six joints a day”.

The jury heard Davidson saw himself as “a bit of a sex symbol” after starring in the West End musical We Will Rock You about a decade ago. He became the lead singer of 80s band Spandau Ballet in 2018 and was best known to fans under his stage name Ross Wild.

He is on trial for a series of sex offences against five women, including three who claimed they were raped. Davidson, of Finchley, north London, denies three counts of rape, three counts of sexual assault, one count of voyeurism, one count of intimidation and one of controlling behaviour.

The court heard how Davison allegedly filmed himself fondling women while they slept and enjoyed role-playing rape and bondage scenarios, as well as having a fantasy where he liked sex with human ‘mannequins’, which a different victim took to mean a woman who pretended to be a “still and lifeless, unresponsive person – as if they were a mannequin from a shop window”. The offences are said to have taken place over a ten year period between 2013 and 2023.

In video evidence played to Wood Green Crown Court today, one of the alleged victims said: “We were having sex five to six times a night, which was just not okay for me. One time I was feeling very sore, and I said I didn't want to have sex with him, he said, 'No, c'mon, c'mon let's have sex.’ He put me on my back, he put his penis in me and started having sex with me. He was trying to laugh and make it funny. I said, ‘No, really, I don't want to.’ I thought he was stopping, and then he flipped me over so I was in doggy style and he continued to have sex with me. I couldn't say no anymore. I barely slept, I felt so anxious and alone the whole time.” She continued. “I used to just lay in bed and cry.”

The woman told the court Davidson also smoked up to six cannabis joints a day. She said: “He spent the whole relationship having, say, five to six joints a day - smoking marijuana. He'd quite often kiss me and have the smoke in his mouth and try to blow it in my mouth, he would try and get me high and I'd obviously fall asleep quite quickly.”

She claimed Davidson also filmed her performing oral sex without her consent, while telling her he was “just texting” and said: “I thought it's a bit weird to be texting whilst this is going on. I hadn't consented to a video being taken of me performing oral on him, I hadn't said that was OK'.”

Davidson, of Finchley, north London, denies three counts of rape, three counts of sexual assault, one count of voyeurism, one count of intimidation and one of controlling behaviour. The trial continues.
