Piers Morgan was beaten by Bradley Walsh as the TRIC Award announced their big winners at today’s ceremony.
The annual award ceremony took place at Grosvenor House Hotel in London, and it was a clean sweep for Coronation Street, with the ITV soap taking home the Best Soap award as well as the Best Soap Actor gong for Dame Maureen Lipman, who plays Evelyn Plummer.
It was a great day for Ken Bruce, who took home no less than three awards - including Radio Show, Radio Personality and Daytime. Bradley Walsh took home the TV Personality award and The Chase bagged Game Show. Joe Wicks won Social Media Broadcast whilst the Best Podcast went to That Peter Crouch Podcast.
It was a good day for Mr Bates vs The Post Office, with the ITV drama winning Best Drama and the documentary winning Best Factual.

Eamonn Holmes and his presenting partner Isabel Webster picked up the Best News Show whilst Nigel Farage picked up News Presenter, but was met with boos when he took to the stage.
Dame Maureen Lipman picked up the first award of the night, where she dedicated her award to Roy Cropper star David Neilson. She said: “It’s been a long journey and although I think you’ve given it to the wrong guy, I’m very happy thank you.”
Bradley had a message for Piers Morgan, telling him to continue with his hard hitting interviews as he sent a video message to collect his award as he was on holiday. He also beat Ant and Dec and Martin Lewis to the crown.
Collecting his Radio Personality award, he said: “I’m lucky to be alive and breathing at this time. Over the age of 60, you can reinvent yourself. And maybe 10-15 years from now I’ll enjoy doing something else, like maybe standing as the president of the United States.”
There was a standing ovation for the cast and crew of Mr Bates vs The Post Office, who received the TRIC Special Award and said their fight would not rest until all the postmasters and postmistresses were given their money.
