Wrexham 24/25 fixtures in full as Reynolds' side given daunting League One start

Ryan Reynolds' Wrexham face stern tests against major challengers including Birmingham City in a tricky start to their first League One season in two decades.

The Red Dragons secured a second successive promotion during another landmark season in 2023-24 as Phil Parkinson guided his side to the runners-up spot in the fourth tier. Bankrolled by Hollywood co-chairmen Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, the additions of ex-Premier League stalwarts James McClean and Steven Fletcher proved inspired as the Welsh outfit secured their League One place for next term.

Now, the fixtures for the 2024-25 campaign have been released, with Wrexham set for a baptism of fire in the opening couple of months of the new campaign. The Racecourse Ground will play host to Wycombe Wanderers in the season opener on August 10 before a trip to face promotion candidates Bolton Wanderers awaits a week later.

From there, the size of the task for Parkinson's side does not diminish as Reading then travel to Wales on August 24 before the cross-border derby versus Shrewsbury Town in early September. To round out a tough opening six games, Birmingham City also await Wrexham seven days later - with this game having the added needle of the playful rivalry between the owners on both sides of the battle.
