Foden and Rice spotted 'going mad' at Trippier during Slovenia draw

England frustration peaked in their goalless draw with Slovenia as Kieran Trippier copped the anger of Phil Foden and Declan Rice.

The Three Lions couldn't break their opponents down in their final group stage game, although they still topped the group. England have only scored twice in three games as their misfiring attack continues to come up short despite the talent at their disposal.

Foden is among those who've struggled to hit the heights expected but he and Rice blew up at Trippier after 30 minutes in Cologne. The makeshift left-back received a pass from the Manchester City star, who urged him to play inside to Rice.

Instead he attempted to thread a tough pass to Bukayo Saka, but it was cut out by the Slovenian defence and put out of play. Foden and Rice were then seen remonstrating with the Newcastle defender after his decision put pay to England's attack.

Plenty of fans spotted the moment, which seems to highlighting the English frustration. Trippier apologised, but supporters still speculated as to the mood in camp. One said on social media: "Foden going mad at Trippier there." Another added: "Mood not ideal when you've Foden throwing his hands at Trippier like that. 'Don't blame me everyone' vibes."

Trippier has filled in for Luke Shaw, who arrived injured but was still included in the squad. He looks as if he could miss the entire Euros which could leave the Newcastle man playing there for the duration, although there is talk of Bukayo Saka switching back to left-back.

Gareth Southgate is not short of options but is yet to find the winning formula, which is only adding to fan frustration. Anthony Gordon, a possible option out wide, is yet to get huge amounts of minutes and admits they are yet to click in attack.

"I just think we can do so much better," he said. "That's the problem. We've got such good players. In training, we're so good every day. We do everything right. And then it's just not clicking. Hopefully, in the coming games, it will because we need to start really attacking teams and dominating games."

Southgate added: "My job is to guide the team through this and get the very best out of the team and keep this perspective for them. I’m very happy with how they’ve handled the last few days.”
