BBC star Martin Roberts is preparing to sign the contract to compete in Strictly Come Dancing.
The Homes Under The Hammer host, 60, has been in talks with bosses since 2021.
It comes just two years after he almost died when he was rushed to hospital with chest pains.
He underwent life-saving surgery after suddenly suffering from pericardial effusion - fluid around the heart which can lead to organ failure.
Now the Daily Star reports he's preparing to dust off his dancing shoes.

A source said: "Martin is just waiting to sign his contract. It'll be a dream come true for him - and a delight for viewers."
He hinted about the exciting show signing at this week's TRIC awards.
He told the newspaper: "I'm like a Ninja Mutant Hero Turtle - I just eat pizzas. Domino's Mighty Meat. I'm the stomach of Domino's, not the face of it.
"I should worry about what I eat because I had a health scare. I need to look after myself better.
"And certainly if I get this TV show later in the year. I'll have to get super fit."
Martin was 58 when he was left fighting for his life from heart failure - and was forced to face his own mortality.
The telly favourite had mistaken his chest pains for long Covid and, by the time he was taken to hospital in April 2022, he had developed a deadly pericardial effusion.
A year later, Martin was left heartbroken by the death of his father.
He recently posted a heartbreaking video of him in tears as he spoke openly about his grief.
Speaking through the pain of his emotions on Father's Day, Marting said: "I just wanted to wish you a very Happy Father’s Day and special thoughts to you if, like me, your dad isn’t around for whatever reason.
