Emily Atack’s famous mum Kate Robbins has shared a new photo of her first grandchild – and admitted it will be one of many.
The 65-year-old actress, who has just landed a new role in the BBC’s Death In Paradise, gushed: “I’m a grandma for the first time! Smitten with our Barney. So happy for Emily and Alistair,” when the newborn arrived into the world last week.
In another post with her tiny grandson snuggled into her chest, Kate beamed at the camera and told her Instagram followers: “I promise not to keep posting pics of me and my grandson, Barney,” before following up with: “The mantra that will prove to be untrue...”
But fans are here for more baby snaps, with one writing: “What a beautiful picture Kate – one for the frame x.” Another commented: “Keep posting. He looks fab and it obviously suits you (Sir!). You look radiant.” A third said: “You keep posting as many photos as you please! You’re a first-time Grandma and enjoying every single minute of it, absolutely nothing wrong with that!”
A fourth posted: “There is nothing like it, is there? It’s a different love than you had for your babies. I don’t know why, but it’s just different. Enjoy all the cuddles while you can. You will look around and they’ll be 15 so don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t be too full on. Go full on because it will go so fast, but you will always have a different love for this little one xxx.” While a fifth said: “Ahhh Kate what a fab pic. You look like his mum not his nan. Hope everyone’s ok xx.”
Ruby Wax sparks concern from fans after posting video from hospital bedInbetweeners star Emily announced she was expecting her first child in December with nuclear scientist boyfriend Alistair Garner. The actress and comedian revealed her secret pregnancy on Boxing Day with a baby bump snap. Alongside the photo, she told fans: "Hello everyone, it's been a little while but I'm back with some news. I'm delighted to share with you all that we're having a baby! I've never been so happy and utterly terrified at the same time.
"Please go easy on me. Every day is mixed with thrill, fear, joy, hysteria, topped off with a lot of vomiting - a bit like when you've just stepped off of the Oblivion at Alton Towers on a hangover. I've got to know my body on such an insane level. It's made me appreciate the one I've been given SO much, I'm doing my absolute best to make it a home for the little squid I'm growing.
"We can already sense the baby is reclined on a mattress of peanut butter and jam sandwiches in there, demanding more chocolate buttons. I'm so happy to be writing all of this to you all. You've always stuck by me through the years, do stick around to watch me enter my mum era. Christ. Let's go."
After giving birth last week following a “very hard” pregnancy, Emily shared the first snap of her and Alistair’s little one and revealed his sweet name. She captioned the post: "We have a beautiful son. Barney James Garner. All my dreams have come true."
