ITV cameras nearly missed a Slovakia wondergoal in their Euro 2024 defeat to England.

A lapse in concentration from the Three Lions had presented David Strelec with the opportunity to score from the halfway line.

However, his quick thinking even caught out the camera operator, who had to quickly cut back to capture the strike.

Strelec had spotted Jordan Pickford off his line after England lost possession in the centre circle.

His looping effort left Pickford sprinting back towards his own goal.

Fortunately for the England goalkeeper, though, the ball bounced narrowly wide of the target.

Strelec had looked to double his side's lead just 10 minutes into the second half.

The Spezia forward also set up Ivan Schranz for the opener as Slovakia took a shock first half lead in Gelsenkirchen.

Schranz's goal was his third of the tournament after finding the target against both Belgium and Ukraine in the group stage.

England thought they had equalised after half-time, only for Phil Foden's strike to be ruled out by VAR for offside.

The Manchester City midfielder narrowly moved ahead of the ball before Kieran Trippier squared it to him.

It came after Gareth Southgate's side had been booed off the pitch at the interval.

However, the Three Lions produced a dramatic late turnaround to reach the last eight.

Jude Bellingham equalised in stoppage time before Harry Kane grabbed the winner just one minute into extra-time.
