A seasoned Glastonbury Festival attendee has offered some handy advice for those wishing to freshen up at the event. Dan Thomas, a regular provider of insider festival tips on social media, gave fans an insight into what they can anticipate regarding shower facilities.

Due to the high demand for water at the festival, options are somewhat limited. The Glastonbury organisers suggest bringing along a wash cloth and bar of soap for a traditional "good ol' fashioned stripwash and making do", reports Wales Online.

In a video from May, Dan outlined five ways to shower at the festival, what to expect from the queues (spoiler - some are lengthy), and where to locate both free and paid-for amenities. While some attendees may be in dire need of a shower, many festival-goers opt to skip showering for the five-day duration.

However, if you're not keen on being covered in sweat and grime, here's what you should know. Dan stated: "The first option is the Naked Sauna and Campfire at the Lost Horizons. They have paid access and the showers, like everything, are communal."

Prices for these showers start at £15 for a single entry or £50 for full week access. He added: "Next is the Greenpeace area which has free, single-gender communal showers. Now this one gets busy, the best time to go is in the morning or the early evening. But the very best time to go, I've found, is just after lunch. These are completely free to use.

"Remember if you're going glamping, you'll probably have showers included there."

Dan shared, "Also free and available to festival goers of any age are the single cubicle showers at The Kidz Field. And these also get quite busy... but there is one more option, one which is free for you to use all week and doesn't involve any queuing."

He continued by saying, "One is by taking a solar-powered shower, which is surprisingly cheap. And the other is by taking a USB-powered shower, which isn't a lot more."
