The one person that Prince Harry could have counted on to heal his bitter rift with his older brother Prince William has been revealed.

The Duke of Sussex has found allies in the late Princess Diana's family amid his ongoing feud with the Royal Family, according to a former royal correspondent. Yet the one person he could have called upon to step in amid the fall-out with his dear brother, is sadly no longer alive.

The Royal source has revealed the missing link between the two of them is their mother, the late Princess Diana.

"I’m sure her greatest wish would be to hug her boys again and find some way of resolving the rift between them," Former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond told OK! Magazine. "If anyone could sort things out, it would have been Diana."

The Duke of Sussex has a frosty relationship with The Firm after issuing a number of bombshell allegations against them. With their relationship at rock bottom, Harry didn't meet with the royals when he returned to the UK earlier this month.

However, he was supported by Earl Charles Spencer and Lady Jane Fellowes, both siblings of the late Princess Diana. Earl Spencer previously vowed to stand by Harry's side. Speaking at Diana's funeral, he said her "blood family" will always protect Harry and his brother Prince William and "arm them spiritually and emotionally".

Prince Harry has opened up about how he turned to booze for comfort after he was no longer allowed to fight in Afghanistan.

The Duke of Sussex revealed he hit a low point during this time, and did not know where to turn. It came after the head of the Army, General Dannatt, called off his deployment saying he was a target for bullets being a Prince.

After discussing his plight with his then girlfriend Chelsy Davy, he poured his heart out about his true feelings in his book Spare. Harry said: "I pondered quitting the Army. What was the point of staying if I couldn’t actually be a soldier?"
