Shania Twain's cow-udder beauty hack to maintain her youthful glow

Shania Twain has revealed the unusual way a cow-udder plays a part in keeping her skin looking young, ahead of her Glastonbury Festival debut in the coveted Sunday legends slot.

The 58-year-old will take to the Pyramid Stage to perform songs from across her career in one of the most highly-anticipated sets of the weekend from Worthy Farm. Shania has described the opportunity as a "once in a lifetime thing", when speaking to Radio Times, and she uses a number of different beauty hacks ahead of one of her biggest gigs.

One of her more long-standing tricks was revealed a few years ago when the Canadian singer admitted that she uses 'Bag Balm' jelly. The cream is originally used to prevents cows udders from chapping and becoming sore. But Shania says she slaps this on her face to soften her skin and even applies it to her hair.

Ahead of taking to the Pyramid Stage, Shania will be continuing with a gruelling diet that she has followed for years, which means that she will only have liquids before performing. Speaking to The Sun, Shania opened up about her routine before entertaining the masses in a field in Somerset.

She said: "I only drink fluids all day until after the show. I drink my food, so I blend my food. Lots of blended spinach and blueberries." This diet has been questioned by a nutritionist, who said that this is good for slimming but it would leave the singer without certain proteins she may require when performing.

Rania Batayneh told The US Sun that Shania might not want to "feel bloated" and would want "to look as slim as possible" ahead of her Sunday tea-time slot. She warned that the singer would have to supplement this with protein powder and that an "imbalanced liquid diet" could "negatively impact" her in a number of areas.

When is comes to removing her make-up, Shania has said that she makes her own cleanser by mixing together caster sugar and olive oil. Speaking to Harper's Bazaar, Shania said: "First thing is olive oil. Why do I use olive oil? I've just learned that oil really does break down the makeup and flushes the pores out."

The singer continued: "I put olive oil and sugar in the palm of my hand - quite a bit of sugar. Then just a couple drops of olive oil, and I mix that in the palm of my hand until I can start rubbing it in. I don't rub it in hard, very softly. And my skin feels, even without moisturiser, so good".

Again, doctors have warned that this technique could have a detrimental effect on the body with Dr Stephen Humble, medical director of Hedox Clinic on Harley Street, telling Hello!: "Sugar's abrasive texture can irritate sensitive skin and cause micro-trauma, particularly around the delicate eye area."
