Singer Paloma Faith changed the energy among fans at Glastonbury to an emotional one, after she paid a heartfelt tribute to the late Amy Winehouse.

The 42 year old mum of two, took to the Pyramid Stage at this year's music festival held at Worthy Farm in Somerset, and decided to weave in a rendition of Back To Black within her set.

Speaking to the packed crowd, the Only Love Can Hurt Like This hitmaker said "love you Amy" before adding that the iconic star was there "in spirit". Amy, who was 27 at the time of her tragic death, died after drinking too much alcohol, according to a second inquest in January 2013.

The legendary star was found dead at her home in Camden, north London, in 2011. Dressed in a red cowboy hat, Paloma sang a few parts of the song following a version of Cass Elliot's Make Your Own Kind Of Music, which featured on her fourth studio album, The Architect.

On hearing her tribute, fans rushed to X, to express their own emotions on the back of her performance. One person said: "#PalomaFaith should get a hella more love!! An incredible voice & such a kooky woman rocking the Pyramid Stage, adored her for years & her Amy Winehouse dedication @BBCiPlayer live stream at #Glastonbury #Glastonbury2024 #Glasto."

Another person wrote: "paloma singing back to black for amy i’m sobbing that was everything #Glastonbury2024 #palomafaith." And their tweet was accompanied by a string of crying emojis. A third person penned: "Don't wait another eight years to book @Palomafait again please @glastonbury. And ideally make it an hour and half long set next time, please. #Glastonbury #Glastonbury2024."

Meanwhile a fourth fan added: "What a performance @Palomafaith. What an utter JOY to hear Make your Own Kind of Music again! Lovely Amy Winehouse tribute too. #Glastonbury #Glastonbury2024." Within her set, which was adored by fans the world over, the star decided to have a confessional moment as she candidly opened up on the reason why she left her husband.

Performing barefoot, she told the crowd that the "key to looking OK is loneliness." She then said the reason she looked older previously was down to her marriage. She claimed: "Because I looked a bit older when I was in a relationship with someone I resented. And I was sitting in the house… like stewing, just like (thinking) ‘Oh you irritate me so much that I have to tell you everything today’.”

But it didn't end there as she then decided to hit out at darting apps and blamed them for making it difficult for people to find their perfect match, rather than help them. She added: "Try and stay together, but it’s the resentment that’s the problem. So all I’m asking, this is a plea.

"I’m talking about (heterosexual) men, if you are married… and I just want you to notice that if a woman does the same action every single day, it means it needs doing, so don’t wait to ask to do it, just do it." Paloma split from her husband Leyman Lahcine after ten years in 2022. The couple share a seven-year-old daughter and three-year-old daughter.
