Roy Keane's quick witted comment bought a laugh from the ITV studio

Roy Keane had Gary Neville in stitches after he predicted England to advance comfortably into the last eight of Euro 2024 - but only after he'd made a hilariously crude joke.

The Irishman has been working alongside his ex-Manchester United team-mate in the ITV studio as the two pundits cast their eye over the tournament. The Three Lions are heavy favourites to beat Slovakia in the first knockout round in Germany. The ex-Red Devils skipper has always been happy to be upfront with his views and opinions.

He was his usual self in the studio as they previewed the last 16 clash and he issued a firm prediction. His interaction with Neville though eventually led to Keane making a joke that had the studio in stitches.

Keane said: "I can't see anything but an England win." Reacting to his prediction, Neville responded: "He's gone early, he's gone early!" The Irishman then quipped back: "Story of my life!"

Despite his prediction of a Three Lions win against Slovakia, the ITV pundit has been blunt about England's performances, their chances of success and the turbulent mood that seems to surround the team. Keane commented on how quickly observers turn or back the team depending on their results.

"It always seems to be extremes," he said. "They have a couple of good results, they're definitely going to win the tournament. Obviously before the show tonight, you were in the final. All of a sudden after the game, it's going to be a tough knockout game.

"We go back to it, simplify it, focus on the next game. England have an unbelievably talented group of players, but that doesn't guarantee anything. You need a bit of luck, you need that team to come together and you need your strikers turning up. They've not quite done that yet, but I think they're still going along nicely and they'll be a threat."
