Arsenal midfielder Fabio Vieira could be sold this summer, with manager Mikel Arteta reportedly unhappy with his performances in training.
Vieira joined Arsenal from Porto in a £35million deal back in 2022, but he found his game time limited last season despite a promising start to the campaign. The 23-year-old featured in eight of Arsenal's first 12 Premier League matches and made three goal contributions.
However, after missing several months through suspension and injury, he made just three more appearances and was largely an unused substitute. In fact, Vieira has not started a game for Arsenal since their 3-1 defeat to West Ham in the League Cup back in November.
And according to a report from the Athletic, that is down to his displays in training which have 'not enabled him to sustain his position in Arteta's pecking order'. The report adds that Vieira's future at the club may depend on Emile Smith Rowe's.
Smith Rowe has also struggled for game time, having only made three league starts last season, and it is unlikely they will both be sold this summer as it would 'leave Arsenal light in midfield'.
Wenger breaks silence on Arsenal visit as he doubles down on title predictionAlbert Sambi Lokonga is another midfielder who looks set to leave this summer, having recently revealed he has already held talks with the club about his future after spending last season on loan at Luton.
Speaking to BBC Three Counties Radio, Lokonga said: "For me, I had a discussion with Arsenal and the conclusion was the best thing for me was to leave the club, so now it's up to my agent and the club to find something.
"I still have a contract there, one year plus a one-year option so let's see what happens. The love I had received has been amazing, it's been unbelievable and I've never seen this kind of support. I will be back here for sure.
"If I'm not playing for Luton I will come for sure to see the guys because I think this was the best decision of my life to come here, to play for this club and I thank Rob (Edwards) for inviting me to join him and be on this journey."
