Britney Spears has been criticised by fans after she appeared to speak out against Michael Jackson and show support for Wade Robson, who has previously accused the late pop star of abuse.

Britney appeared to promote Wade Robson's podcast 'From Trauma to Triumph' in a now deleted Instagram post, which saw her inundated with comments from fans saying she'd 'disrespected' the King of Pop. In the now deleted post, Britney wrote: "I probably don't talk to him as much but I wanted to share this because it genuinely touched my heart to see this older man speak on something that's incredibly sensitive to my heart!!!"

She added: "There is a complete understanding of what he is saying and I think I'm gonna cry for the rest of my life now!!! God bless you!!!"

Britney, who previously had a relationship with Robson whilst she was dating Justin Timberlake 20 years ago, was met with criticism from those defending Jackson after Robson and podcast co-host James Safechuck accused him of sexually abusing them as children. One person hit back at Britney as they commented: "Every tongue that rises against Michael Jackson shall fall, so Britney just signed her death sentence for millions- I mean, billions of people She's dead to me."

Another shared: "Honestly this was most disrespectful thing you could do about Michael Jackson wo you called your friend Britney! Not cool not cool!"

A third added: "The way that Michael Jackson did nothing but everything good for everyone, only to be rewarded with lies and betrayal, is always mind boggling. Shame on everyone whom Michael helped in their own lives and careers, including that b***h Britney."

The move comes after Britney's odd behaviour on social media has included sharing a full-frontal nude video in which she writhes on a beach with no swimsuit just days after publishing a clip of herself in a completely see-through dress. She shared the clip with the caption: "Hello to my a** !!!" The clip shows Britney in the shallow waters of a pristine beach, with her backside in full view.

Britney had previously published the video with a different caption in which she revealed plans to get some injections to make her bottom "fuller". She had written: "Raised my a** a little higher so I have more booty!!! Thinking of getting injections on my a** to make it fuller like that." She turned off comments on the video, but Instagram stats show it was watched by over 13 million people, liked by around 370,000 followers and shared over 236,000 times

Britney's recent behaviour on social media has sparked concern, including a recent video where she appeared to be looking for a "cry for help". She shared a clip of herself looking sultry at the camera as she modelled her red dress as Heart's song All I Want To Do Is Make Love To You played in the background. She walked towards the camera, putting her hand on her hip and adjusting the dress around her chest.

Britney's fans took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to point out that during the video, the Oops...I Did It Again singer kept glancing at something or someone off camera. "Is someone forcing Britney Spears to make these videos? Why is she glancing to the right nervously, and look closely over her left shoulder in the reflection?" One social media user wrote. "Anyone else seeing it?? Or just me?!" Another asked. Others who noticed it were worried about the singer.

A third fan wrote: "This isn't good. I have a bad feeling watching this." A fourth exclaimed: "Every single video she posts is a cry for help. With as many videos as there have been, how has NOBODY stepped in here? It's heartbreaking to watch a downward spiral with NOBODY trying to help her."
