SHOPPERS searching for a new Android phone should take a look at a deal on the brand-new Google Pixel 8a I spotted earlier today.
For just £28 per month and a £79 upfront cost, customers can enjoy a whopping 300GB of data: that's triple the usual tariff.

I uncovered this fantastic deal on the Mobile Phones Direct website, which is currently brimming with href="https://www.thesun.co.uk/topic/google/" rel="noreferrer noopener" target="_blank">Google handsets.
But what truly caught my attention was the Three deal on the newly released Google Pixel 8a, which was launched earlier this month.
How to de-clutter if you have a beauty stash to last you a lifetimeFor just £28 per month and £79 upfront, you get a generous 300GB of data.
That's three times the usual amount, and exceptional for a device fresh off the production line.
The Pixel 8a combines top-tier features with affordability, and I can see its appeal considering what it offers.
On the surface, it comes with a 6.1-inch OLED display and a dual 64MP rear camera, one of the best on a budget handset, which photography lovers will appreciate.
Then there’s the Pixel 8a's 13MP front camera, perfect for selfies and video calls.
Our Senior Tech and Science Reporter Jamie Harris got the chance to test and review the new Pixel 8a and found it to be the "best budget Google phone yet."
And much of that is due to what’s happening under the hood of the latest Android drop.
One of the standout features of the Pixel 8a is its AI-powered functionalities.
As Jamie notes, "Google has gone wild this year, deciding to introduce pretty much all of its top-end AI perks to the 8a."
This includes advanced features like Magic Editor and Best Take, which Jamie highlights as "way ahead of anything currently available on a more expensive iPhone."
I’m a savvy shopper – best time to shop for Xmas 2023 is sooner than you thinkYou'll also benefit from the latest features like Circle to Search, spam filtering, and live translation, innovations that are rarely found in budget handsets.
Our expert also notes Google’s commitment to future-proofing its devices, pledging “seven years of updates” and “new features for years to come too."
In reality, this smartphone offers premium features at a budget price. I'd go far as to say, with the fantastic deal from Three, it's an easy choice for anyone in the market for a new device.
That said, I've had my eyes on more deals featuring this year's hottest releases.
Just last week, I reported on a significant drop in the price of the Samsung Galaxy S24, which is reduced from £999 to £699 on Amazon.
And if your primary concern is sticking to a budget, you'll want to check out the Samsung Galaxy A15.
It's described as 'bright and sharp' by shoppers, and our deal finder, Rhys Melhado-Thompson, discovered it slashed from £170 to an incredible £95.
