Mourinho, 61, will now be joining TNT Sports for the broadcaster's coverage of the Champions League final.

He will be providing expert analysis on the clash between Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund at Wembley.

Mourinho will be very aware of the Real team having managed the club between 2010 and 2013.

He will be working alongside regular pundits Rio Ferdinand, Owen Hargreaves and Steve McManaman.

The coverage of the European clash will be presented by Laura Woods.

Commentary will be provided by Darren Fletcher and Ally McCoist.

Mourinho is still on the hunt for his next job in football management.

The Portuguese coach was reportedly close to becoming the new manager of Turkish outfit Fenerbahce.

It was suggested that the club had made an approach to Mourinho in a move that would have seen him reunite with Fred.

He has also been linked with a sporting director role at Saudi Pr League side Al-Qadisiyah.

Mourinho himself also spoke out recently about rejecting a move to the Portugal national side - something he now regrets turning down.

He said: "It’s normal that I would go with Portugal.

"I had the chance to go twice, but they didn’t come at the right time for me.

"I got emotional when I didn’t accept the last offer, because I decided to stay at Roma and I think I made a mistake.

"Because now Portugal has a fantastic team, one of the best, in the top five.

"I knew it, but I felt a great connection with Roma, with the fans, so I didn’t want to make that decision."

It would have been the first non-managerial role of the Special One's recent career.

He did, however, outline the minimum requirements for his next job in late April.

He told The Telegraph: "The only thing I want is that the targets and the objectives have to be established by everyone in a fair way.

"I cannot go to a club where, because of my history, the objective is to win the title. No.

"The only thing I want is that it has to be fair.

"Do you think if I was at a big Premier League club and we were sixth, seventh, eighth, in the table, I still have a job?

"What I am saying is people [should] look at me the way they look at others.

"What is important for me is if the club has objectives and for me to be able to say I am ready to fight for these.

"I don’t want to say realistic, but [at least] semi-realistic.

"Because when I went to Roma nobody was dreaming about European Cup finals and we did it.

"It’s not possible I go to a club almost relegated and the objective is to win the Champions League. It’s good but it is not fair.”
