Manchester United can finally take a break from their commitments on the pitch after a rollercoaster season.

The Red Devils slumped to their lowest-ever Premier League finish during the 2023/24 campaign. However, they did manage to claim silverware after winning the FA Cup.

All eyes are now on the Old Trafford boardroom. Erik ten Hag was on thin ice when it comes to his job, with Sir Jim Ratcliffe considering a change in the dressing room.

The INEOS owner has already identified potential replacements, while work begins on the summer transfer window. Take a look at all of the headlines coming out of the red half of Manchester over the past 24 hours.

Ronaldo namechecks Man United

Former Man United star Cristiano Ronaldo made sure to mention the Red Devils following his latest record. The Portuguese forward became the leading goalscorer in the Saudi Pro League earlier this week.

Taking to Twitter, Ronaldo said: "Proud to make history as the first top scorer in 4 countries. A huge thank you to all the clubs, teammates and staff who helped me along the way."

Ronaldo has scored 35 goals in just 31 matches during his debut season with Saudi side Al-Nassr. However, that was not enough to help them to the title as second place as Al-Hilal won the league by 14 points.

Rooney favours Messi

Despite Ronaldo’s latest achievement, his former teammate Wayne Rooney has doubled down on his belief that Lionel Messi is the better player between the two. "I think Messi, I think he’s just the best ever," he said on The Overlap.

"I get a lot of stick for saying Messi where it’s as if, ‘How can you say Messi, it’s Ronaldo.’ I understand that people can say Messi, people can say Ronaldo.

"They are both incredible, probably the best two players to ever play the game. For me, Messi has just got that little bit more extra flair, which I like in a player, so that’s the reason.”

Fernandes sends Martial message

Man United captain Bruno Fernandes is among the Red Devils stars to send Anthony Martial a touching message following his exit. The Frenchman confirmed his departure in an emotional Instagram post on Monday.

Responding, Fernandes wrote: "I’m going to miss link up with you toto," and accompanied his message with a red heart.

Forward Marcus Rashford also had some kind words. He said: "So many memories together. Stay blessed brother."
