Moment furious driver chases and smashes into British couple on Majorca motorway

This is the shocking moment a British couple are chased and attacked by a furious driver on a Majorcan motorway.

The angry motorist stuck his middle finger up at the Brits after reversing the wrong way down the motorway and ramming their car before speeding off. It was not immediately clear if the pair targeted were holidaymakers or expats.

Police said the incident occurred after an argument. It is not known what the row was over, but there is no suggestion it was linked to the growing anti-mass tourism sentiment which at the weekend led to some foreign holidaymakers being insulted during a protest in Palma. The British woman, believed to be a passenger in the car targeted, could be heard screaming: “Oh my God, call the police' as the other crazed motorist blocked them before reversing towards them at speed moments before the smash.

She yelled again ‘Oh my God’ as he smashed into them and her companion shouted in response, ‘f*****g idiot’, what’s wrong with you!?” The motorist that rammed them disappeared after his "f**k you" sign with his middle finger.

A spokesman for the Civil Guard in Majorca said of the incident, which happened on April 19, and the outcome of its probe to ID the culprit: “The Guardia Civil has investigated a man as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of reckless driving and intentional damage towards another driver with whom he had had an argument minutes before. The argument between the two drivers began in the Som Oms industrial estate in the Majorcan capital Palma.

“After the altercation, the suspect chased the other vehicle onto the MA-19 motorway, where he made several reckless manoeuvres to block the other driver's path. The victim even stopped the vehicle at one of the junctions to the aforementioned motorway, reversing, in order to flee from the other driver.

“At that moment, the vehicle that was pursuing him also reversed backwards until it intentionally collided with him, causing considerable material damage to both vehicles. Following the complaint received and after analysing the videos provided by both the Directorate General of Traffic and the complainant himself, the officers located the driver who is under investigation.”
