Shocked shoppers watched on as a suspected shoplifter tussled with a supermarket security guard before allegedly stealing two bottles of whiskey.

The alleged culprit dressed in an all-black could be seen with the bottles of alcohol in his hands. However, things got difficult when the guard tried to take the bottles away.

A woman at the checkout ushered herself out of the way and grabbed onto her handbag whilst other shoppers with trollies kept an eye on the erupting chaos while moving to safety themselves.

One till worker watched closely as the brave security guard confronted him. The incident took place at the supermarket, in New Kent Road, Elephant and Castle, south London on May 30.
