A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a car mounted pavement and hit four people before being driven away.

Officers were called to Prince Street, Walsall, just before 5pm on Friday, West Midlands Police said.

“The driver fled the scene and two men in their 20s were taken to hospital with serious injuries,” a force spokesperson said.

Their injuries were not thought to be life-threatening and the two other men were not seriously hurt.

Officers said they arrested the 27-year-old man on Friday night and he remained in custody for questioning.

They added officers have found a vehicle they suspected was involved.
