Mark Wright and his heavily pregnant wife, Michelle Keegan, were reportedly terrified as four masked raiders entered their home while they hid in their bedroom for safety
Heavily pregnant Michelle Keegan and her husband Mark Wright were subjected to a horror burglary at their home.
The celebrity couple, who are expecting their first child together, reportedly locked themselves in their bedroom when their £3.5million Essex mansion was targeted by masked raiders last night. The Brassic star, 37, and radio presenter, 38, are said to have heard their porch window smash before their alarm system went off at their lavish pad.
An Essex Police spokesperson stated on Tuesday that its investigation into the burglary was ongoing. He said: "It was reported four suspects had forced entry to an address, carrying out a search of the property before fleeing. Within eight minutes, our officers were on the scene. We are continuing to support and safeguard the victims and are conducting high-visibility patrols in the area."
He continued: "We are exploring a number of lines of inquiry, including but not limited to forensic opportunities, CCTV and witness statements. Anyone with information should contact us as soon as possible." Here, The Mirror takes a look at everything we know...
It is believed Michelle and Mark were inside their home when their window smashed on Tuesday evening, and four suspects in balaclavas entered the property for close to a minute. Authorities were alerted to the break-in via the couple’s security system. The raiders fled the scene in a getaway car when they heard Mark yelling, and thankfully, nobody was harmed in the terrifying ordeal.
The couple is said to be relieved for their safety and is glad nothing was stolen, but they are reportedly "very shaken up" by the incident. Speaking about the raid, a source told The Sun: "It was a traumatic experience for both of them, but they are relieved that neither of them were injured. Mark did the sensible thing and stayed with his wife to make sure she was OK. They waited for police to arrive before leaving the room." The source went on to say Mark "acted swiftly" when he realised what was happening.

Their jaw-dropping home features a bar, a cinema room, a sauna and a gym, and a five-a-side football pitch. Detectives reportedly believe the raiders were professionals ’looking for a big score’ on the five-bedroom mansion.
Mark and Michelle purchased the enormous house in 2019 for £1.3million and have since shared updates on their renovations with fans on Instagram, with a page dedicated to their home @wrightyhome. Most recently, their account, which boasts almost 700,000 followers, gave a peek into the "mind-blowing" transformation of their spiral staircase. They also previously shared posts about their garden renovations, swimming pool addition, driveway changes, and more.
It comes after the former Coronation Street star revealed that she was expecting her first baby with husband Mark at the end of December, after enjoying the beginning of her journey into motherhood in private. Michelle and Mark got married in 2015, and the star admitted that speculation around their lack of children in the early years of their marriage led to her desire for privacy.
"Around the time we got married, I was open about the fact that I wanted to have a family but then, because we didn’t choose to have children within a certain time, there was lots of speculation," she told Grazia earlier this month. "I made the decision to not talk publicly about that side of my life. I’m going to be 38 this year and, as I’ve got older, I feel more confident about my boundaries."
In December 2024, Michelle announced she was expecting her first child in a sweet Instagram post. In the picture, the actress cradled her bump in a white maxi skirt and matching crop top as her beaming husband, Mark, stood across from her on a beach. In the caption, Michelle wrote: "2025 is going to be a special one for us…" The couple were congratulated by famous friends, including Corrie star Helen Flanagan and TOWIE star Sam Faiers.
The news came 12 years after the couple first met. In 2012, Mark rose to fame on The Only Way Is Essex, while Michelle starred as Tina McIntyre on Coronation Street. Their love story began when they met through mutual friends in Dubai while on separate holidays and has been going strong ever since. However, they are said to have crossed paths a few times before that, reportedly meeting backstage at The X Factor and bumping into each other at numerous events.
Speaking to Made in Chelsea star Jamie Laing on his Private Parts podcast, Mark revealed that he’d chased her for a while. "Basically, she gave me the elbow for about a year, and then finally, I got my way after a lot of work. People were suspecting things, but we genuinely weren’t [dating]," he said. "And then about literally a year later of us bumping into each other, I finally sort of asked her out, and it went from there."
It wasn’t until a year after the meeting that the couple went public with their relationship at the British Soap Awards in 2013. Mark wasn’t wasting any time, as he popped the question just four months after making their relationship public - and nine months after they began dating.
He told us: "I’ve got now, for the first time in my life, what I’ve always wanted and what every boy dreams of – affection in a relationship, love, best friend, a girl I fancy… everything rolled into one."
